Delta Sigma Theta to stage career and college expo at Middleton

The Tampa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in collaboration with Middleton High School, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections and the Tampa Family Health Center will hold a free career and college fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (Sept 22) at Middleton High School, 4801 N 22nd St.

The career and college fair expo aims to prepare middle and high school aged students to pursue their passion with expertise. A collaboration of local business and college representatives from state, regional and national colleges and universities will lend support to the mission.

The chapter, which has served Hillsborough County residents for nearly 70 years, developed this expo as a way to help students understand the available options as they transition into the next chapter of their lives whether into the workplace or into college.

The expo features interactive career sessions for youth and adults, career presentations and college exhibits. In addition and new to the expo this year are level one health screenings provided by health care professionals.

The expo supports the Tampa Alumnae chapter's vision to be a leader in creating positive trans-generational impacts. The Deltas seek to promote academic excellence, provide scholarships and support to the underserved, educate and stimulate participation in the establishment of positive public policy, and to highlight issues and provide solutions for problems in communities.

The career and college fair expo will provide lunch for those who register. For more information and to register visit dstta.com or email tadeltaacademy@gmail.com.
