The greater Brandon area will celebrate the grand opening of its second Goodwill store beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday (April 28) at 1407 U.S. 301.
The new store will add another 12,000 square feet to the complex, which includes a 200,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center.
"We're very excited to open our second Tampa store location, and our fifth in Hillsborough County," said Chris Ward, Goodwill-Suncoast's director of marketing and public relations. "And our new distribution center at the same location is perfectly positioned to transport goods throughout our service area."
Those who come out for the grand opening celebration will be able to register all weekend long for exciting raffle prizes, including iPads, Amazon Fire TV sticks and Samsung smart TVs, and need not be present to win.
The new store will be the clean and well-organized bargain hunter's paradise that shrewd shoppers have come to expect at Goodwill. Donated clothes, furniture and household items in great condition, along with brand-new products, will be available.
There will also be a convenient drive-through lane, giving area residents a place to easily drop off items they no longer need. Thousands of people in 10 counties across West Central Florida will benefit from another successful store, as the retail revenue helps support the agency's many human services.
Goodwill's mission is to help people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work, offering employment assistance, job training for those with disabilities, a children's literacy program, affordable housing for seniors, and community corrections programs.
Goodwill held a job fair in February to hire workers for the store and distribution center, but positions are still available. For more information, call (813) 542-8100 or visit goodwill-suncoast.org.
