The 2018 Greater Hillsborough County Fair opens at 5 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 18) for two weekends at 215 Sydney Washer Road in Dover. This year's theme is Good Times and Country Rhymes.
The fair features livestock shows, carnival rides and fair food which are all staples of the annual event. There will also be free entertainment including Robinson's Racing and Swimming Pigs. The firefighter show returns featuring educational entertainment along with a circus.
On Friday (Oct. 19) and Saturday (Oct. 20) there will be the Rodeo with fast action on horseback and bull riding. Oct. 26 and Oct. 27 will feature the Truck and Tractor Pull. On Oct. 28 will be the demolition derby with cars crashing into each other until only one stands. These event are grandstand events and are $10 each.
Opening day is Dollar Day at the fair where fair admission and each ride are only $1. There will also be Dollar Day promotions on Oct. 25. Adult admission is $7, students K-12 are $5, Seniors are $4 and five years and under are free. Parking is free.
The fair will run from Thursday (Oct. 18) through Sunday (Oct. 21) and continue the following weekend on Oct. 25-28. Attendees can come between 5-10 p.m. on Thursday's, 5-11 p.m. on Friday's, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday's and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday's.
