Local sneaker boutique Burn Rubber will release "Ybor's Own" edition sneaker this Saturday at noon at 1517 E 7th Ave, Suite B.
The "Ybor's Own" sneaker is the product of Burn Rubber's collaboration with FILA to introduce its newest sneaker, The Mindbreaker 2.0 and the design is inspired by the unique street signs found in Tampa's historic Ybor City.
This new model with FILA features the same colors as the Ybor street signs, the latitude and longitude coordinates of the Burn Rubber shop on the insole of the sneaker, and Burn Rubber's "Chef So iLL" logo on the tongue of the shoe.
"We did this to highlight Tampa and Ybor City," said owner Omar Ghanem.
"We are making it a responsibility here at Burn Rubber to represent and showcase how amazing Tampa is. It's a great city full of culture and the world needs to know it."
Burn Rubber is an independent sneaker boutique that made its debut in November of last year in Ybor City. It's among a select few shops to offer Fila's Mindbreaker 2.0, and this exclusive, limited sneaker retails at $110. "Ybor's Own" edition cannot be found elsewhere and is available this Saturday on a first come first serve basis.
