Tropical Nights
For the second year, co-chairs Heidi Charpentier and Jason LeBlanc hosted Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful's lively and sustainable Tropical Nights party, known for its eclectic auction to fund and raise awareness of local environmental programs. Guests posed for caricatures, raved about Saddlebrook's short rib meatballs on tater tot waffles and bid on wind chimes, pallet wine racks, terra cotta planters and other useful items artfully painted by Terry and Dori Klaaren, Ken Mitchell, Anita Long and Irene Guy, among other participants March 23 at TPepin's Hospitality Centre. Proceeds reached 6,100, helping chairwoman Christina Majeed raise $100,000 to help children and families challenged by autism and other disabilities.
Golf like a Rockstar
You say Gulf, they say Golf - any way you spell it, Golf Like a Rockstar scored with supporters of Gulf Coast Jewish Family-&-Community Services. LPGA pro Shasta Averyhardt joined the party March 24, offering pointers to some of the 150 guests hitting micro-chipped golf balls at Topgolf Tampa targets while enjoying a barbecue buffet and music by Fencewalk.
Attorney General Pam Bondi was there to salute her good friend, psychiatrist Rahul Mehra, who was honored with the M.A. Bernstein Behavioral Health Award for 30 years of helping people deal with stressful life situations, locally and especially in the statewide foster care system.
